Mini Pipe Contest

Woodward Park City, Utah

Stance supported a mini-pipe event hosted by Punk+Poet, pro-snowboarder Jill Perkins at Woodward Park City, Utah. It was a gripping 2-day snowboarding competition that rallied the core snowboard community. Day 1 of the event was open to the public and invited snowboarders of all levels. There was an impressive lineup of talented, professional, and amateur riders showcasing their skills in hopes of qualifying for the finals. Renowned riders like Sam Taxwood, Katie Kennedy, and Erik Leon were in attendance showcasing their next level skills on the pipe. The competition was fierce with Stance offering cash prizes for the best tricks, which added an extra layer of excitement and push from the riders.

The atmosphere on Day 1 was electric, with DJ Matty Mo setting the vibes on the 1’s and 2’s as riders put on a show on the pipe. Judges Jill Perkins, Desiree Melancon, and Scott Blum had the pleasure of determining the best performances amidst the perfect sunny weather and ideal snow conditions. Local riders Julia Piacenti and Sawyer Cartright further made it to the finals to rep for their local community.

Day 2 brought snowy conditions in the AM, but that didn't stop the athletes from going big for the $5k first place prize. Several industry leaders came to show their support such as Mikey Leblanc, and fellow punk and poet Bomb Hole personality Chris Grenier. Ultimately, the grand prize winners Jack Coyne and Ellie Weiler put on a show and reined supreme taking home the grand prizes. Shout out to co-sponsors Skull Candy, Nixon, Sun Bum, New Belgium, Flying Embers and Woodward Park City, along with the hustle and vison of Jill Perkins, the mini pipe event was an incredible success that celebrated the spirit of core snowboarding.
