Giving Tuesday: NAMI x Stance

Take a Stance. Help us support NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, this Giving Tuesday.

We are taking a Stance on mental health. December 3rd, 2019 is Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform communities around the world. Stance is partnering with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and will donate 10% of proceeds from Stance.com and Stance retail during Giving Tuesday to their cause.

1 in 5 adults in the U.S. will struggle from a mental illness and 15% of youth aged 6-17 in the U.S. have experienced a mental health disorder this year. The widespread prevalence of this issue, especially those within the creative community, is hard to ignore. For this reason, we are taking a Stance on mental health and partnering with NAMI.

15% of youth aged six to 17 in the U.S. have experienced a mental health disorder this year.

Proceeds from Giving Tuesday will directly help NAMI continue their work of; educating and supporting people in need, eliminating the stigma of mental illness, advocating for research and health care, and inspiring awareness and understanding.

Stance has implemented an internal Health and Mental Wellness approach from the brand’s inception aimed at providing a positive and balanced working environment. Besides a focus of fostering a positive company culture, employees are encouraged to utilize our in-house gym and work with our onsite Direct of Wellness and Trainer. Stance also holds an ongoing speaker series at our Headquarters to help educate and bring awareness to our employees on the various topics surrounding Mental Illness. We recently hosted Kimono’s for Kai founder, James Wright and Steve Pitman, president of NAMI, who are increasing awareness of pre-teen suicide and helping others identify symptoms of mental illness in yourself and those around you.

Be on the look-out for future efforts and upcoming product collaborations with artists and organizations dedicated to this very important cause.

Give comfort in more ways than one this Holiday Season. Please join us in our ongoing effort to de-stigmatize Mental Illness and help us support an incredible organization providing support to the millions of people impacted.
